Privacy Policy

Last Updated: August 20, 2026

I. Introduction

Bondar for Clarkstown (the “Campaign,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy of our supporters and website visitors. This Privacy Policy outlines the types of information we collect through our website, www.voteforbondar.com, how that information is used, and the choices you have regarding your information. By using our website and providing your information, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

II. Information We Collect

A. Information You Provide Directly

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you:

  • Fill out the contact form on our website;
  • Request a yard sign;
  • Sign up to volunteer or receive updates; or
  • Otherwise communicate with us.

Depending on which form you use and what you tell us, this information includes:

  • First and Last Name;
  • Email Address;
  • Street Address (for yard-sign delivery);
  • Phone Number;
  • The way you would like to get involved, and related details you supply — for example the number and size of yard signs you request, the volunteer activities you select, or a proposed date if you offer to host an event;
  • Whether you have opted in to receive text messages; and
  • Any comments or messages you submit through our forms.

B. Information Collected Automatically

When you visit our website, our hosting and security provider automatically receives standard technical information sent by your browser, including your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, and the date and time of your visit. This information is used to deliver the website, protect it from abuse, and maintain its security. We do not use website analytics, advertising trackers, or session-recording tools.

When you begin typing an address into our yard-sign form or our ward-finder map, the characters you type are sent to a third-party address-lookup service so that it can suggest matching addresses. This happens as you type, before you submit the form. If you prefer not to use this feature, you may type your address without selecting a suggestion, or contact us directly by email.

C. Information from Third Parties

When you make a contribution to the Campaign through our designated fundraising platform, Zeffy, we receive information from them as required by campaign finance laws. Please be aware that the information you provide to Zeffy is also subject to Zeffy’s own privacy policy.

III. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To Communicate With You: To send you information about the Campaign, events, and opportunities to get involved via email, phone calls, postal mailings, and — if you have opted in — SMS/text messages.
  • To Respond to Inquiries: To respond to your comments, questions, and requests, and to fulfill yard-sign and volunteer requests.
  • For Campaign Operations: For internal purposes such as data analysis, identifying usage trends, and furthering our campaign activities.
  • To Comply with Legal Obligations: To comply with applicable campaign finance laws and other legal requirements.

IV. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We do not use advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies on this website. We do not sell or share your information with advertising networks, and we do not use cookies to build a profile of you or to follow you across other websites.

The website uses the following limited technologies:

  • Browser storage for your preferences. The site saves two small settings in your own browser (using local storage, not cookies) so it can remember that you dismissed our cookie notice and our “get involved” prompt. This information stays on your device and is never transmitted to us.
  • Strictly necessary security technologies. Our hosting and security provider, Cloudflare, may set essential cookies or similar identifiers to protect the site from bots and abuse — for example, when the anti-spam check runs on our forms. These are used for security, not tracking.

You can clear or block cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Doing so will not prevent you from using the website, though our forms and notices may behave as if you are a first-time visitor.

V. Service Providers Who Process Your Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We do share it with a small number of service providers who process information on our behalf so that we can operate the Campaign. Each is bound by its own privacy policy and terms, and we encourage you to review them:

  • Brevo (Sendinblue) — stores the contact information you submit through our forms and sends our campaign emails, including the confirmation email you receive after contacting us.
  • Cloudflare — hosts and delivers the website, processes our web forms, stores our campaign videos, and provides security services including the Turnstile anti-spam check used on our forms.
  • Zeffy — processes contributions to the Campaign. Information you enter on Zeffy’s donation form is collected by Zeffy under its own privacy policy.
  • Photon, operated by Komoot — provides the address suggestions that appear as you type in our forms and ward-finder map.
  • OpenStreetMap Foundation — provides the map imagery and address lookup used by our ward-finder map.
  • Google Fonts — serves the typefaces used on the website. Because these files are delivered by Google, your IP address is disclosed to Google when a page loads.

VI. SMS/Text Messaging Policy and Consent

We send SMS/text messages only to supporters who have affirmatively opted in. On our contact form, you may check the box labeled “Text me campaign updates.” Checking that box is entirely optional and is not a condition of contacting us, requesting a yard sign, volunteering, or contributing.

If you opt in, you consent to receive campaign update and donation-ask SMS/text messages from Bondar for Clarkstown at the number you provide, including messages sent using automated technology. Message frequency varies, up to 5 messages per week. Message and data rates may apply. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message, or by emailing us at the address below. Reply HELP for assistance. See our Terms of Use for the full text-messaging program terms.

Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, provided that the foregoing does not apply to sharing (1) with vendors, consultants and other service providers who need access to such information to carry out work on our behalf (and who will not use such information for their own purposes); or (2) if we believe disclosure is required by any applicable law, rule, or regulation or to comply with law enforcement or legal process.

VII. Third-Party Websites and Services

Our website contains links to other websites, including our social media pages (for example, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Reddit, and LinkedIn), our donation processor Zeffy, and official government resources such as the Rockland County Board of Elections and the New York State voter lookup. This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of third parties that we do not own or control. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party website you visit.

VIII. Data Security

We are committed to protecting the security of your personal information. Our website is served exclusively over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and we use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we collect from loss, theft, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. However, no internet transmission is ever completely secure or error-free.

IX. Your Choices and Opt-Out Rights

You may opt out of receiving future communications from us at any time.

  • Email Opt-Out: You can unsubscribe from our email list by clicking the “unsubscribe” link provided at the bottom of every email we send.
  • SMS/Text Message Opt-Out: You can unsubscribe from our text message list by replying “STOP” to any message.
  • Access, Correction, and Deletion: You may ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing us at the address below. We will honor reasonable requests consistent with our legal obligations, including any campaign finance recordkeeping requirements.

X. Children’s Privacy

Our website is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information as quickly as possible.

XI. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy indicates when it was last revised. Any changes will become effective when we post the revised Privacy Policy on the website. Your continued use of the website following these changes means that you accept the revised policy.
